ABOUT ME
Mathematics, computer science and medicine. These were the keystones of my scientific life. Initially there was only math, then computer graphics was added and for the last 20 years of my life in the sciences medicine was included. I never left one domain to enter a new one, rather, domains were added and merged. For living a life like it was handed to me a very special place is a necessary prerequisite. I found it in the University of Bremen with its unique entrepreneurial spirit. Here I always had whatever breathing space I needed for my scientific adventures.
I am grateful that I can give back to this extraordinary university: Karin and Heinz-Otto Peitgen Stiftung.
The theme of this photo by Gayla Chandler visualizes some of my interests during the
period 1985-2015: fractals in mathematics and in nature.
